H/J Farms near Louisville, KY

My family is moving to Lousiville in August, and while I have found some lovely boarding facilities, they are all primarily eventing based. This would be fine, as my mare’s care is of highest importance over discipline focus, but I thought I’d throw it out there to the wise COTH world to see if anyone had a recommendation as I would really like to take lessons and have a group to show with. I don’t mind a bit of a drive, as I have spent the last 4 years traveling over an hour one way to get to the barn. Feel free to PM if you’d prefer.

Thanks in advance.

PM sent. Curious to see the responses though. Louisville is like a desert when it comes to HJ barns.

Rick Fancher is in Crestwood, just outside of Louisville. He’s all hunters though, no jumpers and it depends on how much you want to spend/show. They are at shows about 2 weeks per month, and every horse in the barn goes to show shows, except the retirees.

Bobby Dreyer is also in the area, and the cost would be less than at Rick’s. Let me know if you are interested in contact information for either.

I can highly recommend Karina Busch (Halcyon Hill) in Elizabethtown. She is mainly jumpers and goes to all the shows in Tenn and Ky. Really nice lady. She has a page on FB – Karina Busch Halcyon Hill

Lord Helpus, Thank you so much for the recommendation. I will definitely get in touch with her.

Sent you a PM. We are a hunter jumper facility in Smiths Grove, KY. We are owned by an international show jumper, Harriet McCord. Please check out our webpage. www.oakgrovefarmandequestrian.com

I had a kid that moved there and rode with Leslie Governo fwiw.

Thank you!
