Haas brushes

I know they have been discussed before, but I’m considering buying a set of the Haas brushes.

Does anyone have, or know where I can get, a list of all their brushes w/ hardness etc.
Live in the US, so unless I ship over from England, can’t find the pre put together packs & even if I could, I’d still like to see what brushes are available rather than depending on someone else to select everything for me.

When I looked at smarkpak & amazon, there were a ton of brushes, more it seems than are in the available packs.
I can’t find a website for the manufacturer, which is what i was hoping to do, something where they are all listed in one place.

Its in the uk but they a really good selection. Thats where I get mine from. I know when I had mine shipped outside of uk they took the vat off for me.

Mary’s Tack and Feed has tons of them- it was the only site that I could find all the brushes I needed. I ordered my entire “chestnut set” through them. I just looked up which brushes made up each eqclusive color set and bought them individual. I also did it when they had a 15% sale going.

anyone used the sponge/brush combo for bathing?

I love new stuff sigh

Of course if I buy a new set of brushes, need a new bag for them so they don’t get absconded with… another weakness of mine… I can’t walk past the tool bag section of home depot…all those bags, with all those compartments…

I have several of them. They are great. I had to replace some old horsehair brushes that were coming loose after some decades. I got some from RW and some from Smartpak I think. Haven’t tried the sponge. I think the descriptions are pretty accurate, but I haven’t seen a comparison chart all in one place.

I literally bought the sponge brush combo today! I plan on using it early next week. I’ll update after I try it out!

I love my sponge brush! I wet it put some shampoo and of I scrub! Favorite thing ever. It’s so so good to lift the sand and dead hair. Use it on all my ponies. Also I like the fact that with a little shampoo it works super well just keep keep putting little water on it.
Also use the blue stone sponge, got just before the lockdown so haven’t used it yet.

I love the sponge brush, however after about a year the sponge has disintegrated. I have the “black” set of brushes from Equlusive. I also have the Schimmell brush (I probably butchered the spelling) which works surprisingly well to remove the poop stains on my Pinto.

What is the bluestone sponge? Is it hard like the black BBQ blocks we used to use? Is it like a pumice stone? Is it just a firm regular sponge?

Yes like the Punic stone you need to wet your or dampen the horse first. I haven’t used mine yet due to not being able to go to the barn but a couple of my friends have it and they use it all the time they love it because they said it really takes off all the dirt and dead hair very easily even gets the poop stains out rather well so they have said.

I’m have trouble fiding which brushes are in the packs. Website doesn’t seem to list them anymore, just says “x number of brushes for y coat color”. Anyone have a link to actual list? Even if I buy a package I like to know what’s in it first. Then I can supplement etc if I feel like there is something missing ( like of I buy a. At kit & add one brush for stains on a white horse or do I buy the universal kit etc)

Question: what’s the deal with the “coat color brushes?” Is it just a fun matchy matchy thing? Or have they developed special tools for filthy greys? Or do chestnuts really need softer brushes? Etc.

Not a clue, it may be just great marketing for really goo brushes, but I can’t find anywhere in my area that carries them so I could lay hands on them in person to select. I figure at least starting with their recommendations would be a good place since I have to order on line, but I want to know exactly what I am buying if I buy a set.

I’m sure that some of it/much of it is marketing hype. But, speaking as an owner of gray who is also strongly attracted to mud, the Schimmell brush is very good at getting stains out of a gray coat.

I noticed that one brush that the Riding Warehouse page doesn’t list is the Lippizaner, which is also marketed for grays. (I don’t own that one–yet!).

I own the Schimmel which is my favorite for mud, poop, and helping to get sand out. It’s a good stiff brush but it is sensitive horse approved. I also have the diamond gloss which is an ok dense flick type brush but I recently bought the Thoroughbred brush which despite mine having a too big handle I like better because the bristles are shorter. It’s a good soft body brush like my ancient Millers one. A little less staticky than the diamond. And I also have the Diva because I find it easier to use and care for than a sheepskin mitt.
