Had a BLAST XC schooling at Twin Rivers (and winter horse camping!)

Thought I’d share a XC schooling report!

Last weekend, a friend hauled down to my ranch, we all then loaded into my rig, and hauled down to Twin Rivers (Paso Robles, CA) for a weekend of XC schooling (and lessons) FUN!!!

Another friend met us there, coming in from Fresno…We camped overnight out of my trailer, even in the winter cold (not bad, here) and just had an absolute BLAST!

So all three girls camped comfortably out of my trailer (first time I had 3 in there, so I’m happy we can do that now)…and all three horses were ROCKSTARS!!!

Fancy, my mare, was awesome. She was the steady-eddy to be used to help conduct “exercises” for the more less-than-steady-eddies  She may not be the most athletic thing, and we only do Intro & school BN…but she’s a good pony!

Didn’t get many pics of us at all, and none jumping. But here are a few of “the gang” and “at camp”

Me on Fancy: (I had my XC vest UNDER regular vest)

Friend on Winston:

Friend on Fi:

At Camp:

Only jumping pics are the one I took of my friend during her XC lesson (in the rain, but still fun!)

No critiques, please! This is a “just sharing what a fun time we had” thread

So proud of my pony and my friends’ horses were all FAB, too!

Sounds like a great time!

Agreed, looks like you had fun! Great that you can do this in your “winter” (my winter does not allow that kind of outdoors fun)!

How fun!!! This was my local eventing venue (16 miles away). But now my girl has moved to the mountains so I’m not sure where our new eventing home will be. I will be joining her at the end of the month. Still will be within 200 miles of Twin Rivers and will hope to participate in some events. We will have the advantage of living at 4000 ft!!!

Thanks for taking a peek, gang!

Mukluk - you are really local! I’m exactly 2 hours north of Twin Rivers…easy haul straight down the 101  I’ll be competing at the May 1 Day Horse Trial (unrecognized)…come on over!!!
