Haflinger crosses?????

There is a haflinger WB cross competing 3rd (or so) level in the NW who I never would have known was part halflinger. A bit shorter and stouter that the average WB, but I really would have guessed all WB if I hadn’t been told otherwise.

I bred my TB to a halflinger. She sold before she foaled so I don’t know how that one turned out.

I have a Haflinger cross filly. Her dam was supposedly a spotted draft, but all i really know is she was a well built pinto. She’s adorable, and is a lovely mover. Sadly I don’t need another short horse, so I need to sell her this summer. I think she’d make a fancy driving horse or a cute eventer.

My stallion stands to approved Haflingers and to sport horse mares, and he sired a very nice looking colt out of a Warmblood (Hanovarian) mare by ES Donavan last year. I’m hoping the owner will send me some good photos after he sheds out this year. She bred him to bring along as her performance horse, so we shall see. I have have two clients with Thoroughbred mares breeding to him this year. I’ve seen some Haflinger/Thoroughbred crosses that were gorgeous, athletic, and very successful performance horses. And, as someone mentioned, Ingrid Krause has at least a couple of outstanding crosses competing successfully (in dressage, I believe), as well as her purebred Haflingers. The sport type Haflinger when crossed on larger sport mares produces something very similar to a Warmblood, just in a smaller package. But, you can also find purebred Haflingers in that same smaller package (14.2-15.2H) competing successfully as well.
