8weeks ago I shaved four 2" areas on my horses face to use a tens unit. She had gotten her head stuck in a gate last year and has facial paralysis. What can I do to get her hair to grow back?
It will grow back on its own, and nothing you do will make a huge difference. It’s just the time of year, the spring coat will come in in a few more weeks.
Wait for spring. When she sheds out, it will grow along with the rest of her summer coat.
8 weeks is no time at all.
My guy had everything from his second rib to his hock shaved (basically, his entire hind-quarter on one side) in OCTOBER (19 weeks?) and he is still baldy mc-Nakey under his blanket… and he’s a pretty woolly beast. It’ll all be back by the end of spring - they don’t grow much coat right now, they’re shedding it.
Give it time; hair is one of the last things to grow back, especially when an area is healing – the inner structures are much more important.
Another vote for - wait a bit, it is spring, it will grow.
I trace clipped my pony in the fall, she is still very trace clipped and it is months later.

I had a dog that had a section of his back shaved. He had ACL surgery and they put a patch on his back that released pain meds. Months later his hair hadn’t started to grow back at all. We put him on a coat supplement and it finally started growing back.
I’ve had good luck with Leovet Bio-skin oil might be worth a shot too

Worry not! My horse has two squares on each side of his neck from when he got some sarcoids removed back in the beginning of November. They slightly annoyed me, and I do get asked why/when he was at the clinic. I’m just waiting for the winter coat to shed and the summer coat to come in. I think that will help you too.
