Mr. Mukluk just got some ariat terrain riding boots which he really likes, however his current half chaps aren’t wide enough at the ankle to fit. Does anyone know of anything that would work for this boot? Thanks in advance!
The All-Around III has a lot of stretch and would likely work with the Terrains.
Melissa, thanks for your recommendation. Apparently Ariat used to make a terrain half chap- however, it appears that it was discontinued.
These are similar to the old Terrian half chaps - https://www.actionridertack.com/p-2075-action-rider-kool-air-riding-half-chaps.aspx
These work really well with my Dublin boots (cheaper equivalent to Ariats):

They’re inexpensive and synthetic so you can throw them in the wash.
I use 2 different kinds that I really like. Both of them fit over my hiking boots if necessary (though I don’t generally ride in hiking boots!) You can see them here at the bottom:

The green ones are Just Chaps from the UK:

I just bought a new pair, and with shipping they were about $65. They’re very durable.
The red and black pair are handmade by a friend in California. They’re leather, fasten with velcro (so quite adjustable). She takes your measurements to get the right size, and she can make them in any color. They’re about $110, and also very durable. she doesn’t do internet, so if you’re interested, PM me and I can give you her contact info.

Another vote for JustChaps. I ordered mine through Amazon Uk when their website was down (couldn’t order directly at the time) and and they arrived within just a few days. Super comfy and are an excellent fit with my Terrains.
Good news! Looked in the Ariat catalog today and a new version of the Terrain half chap will be available in April/May. It looks somewhat similar to the discontinued Volant XT… combo of suede and mesh. In black or tan.
