Half Pad Sizing? HELP!

I have several friends who think I should purchase a half pad for my new gelding. I want to get a shimmable half pad but I’m not sure which brand to look into? What do you guys use? Also what size should I get? I ride in a 17" Wintec All Purpose saddle but I’d like to be able to use it with my Wintec Pro Dressage saddle as well. I’ve been thinking ThinLine…

For a shimable half pad I like the Thinline.

This one - sheepskin

I have this one and really love it.

I have it in a Large and it fits my 18" seat and my 17" seat saddles.

Thanks! I’ve seen the ThinLine ones with sheepskin and I really like the look of them. Do you have any recommendations for sizing? Trying to figure out if I can use the same half pad for both my All Purpose and Dressage saddle.

I forgot to add the size. I have a large… Here is a FB photo of the large Thinline under my very small 17" saddle

Don’t know if the photos will work because I think they are private I will try to fix that.

Thinking you may be right on the large. Someone else suggested that but I just wasn’t sure if that was right. Thank you for your help! I think you’re right because I can only view the first picture

Well I think I got the photo with the 18" saddle to work… but I think you would be okay with the large. It fits many saddles for me and has held up very well over the years of use.

I quite like the thinline with sheepskin…BUT you should be aware that it adds A LOT more bulk than a plain Mattes or other sheepskin pad. I found it was great only if the saddle could accommodate that much bulk underneath.

Yes agree…

The Trifecta Thinline is not as thick as the Sheepskin. It is a cotton material; slightly quilted underside and just has the sheepskin edging to give it the look of the sheepskin.

I absolutely love the Trifecta pad. It’s also a bit cheaper than the full sheepskin.
