I love their products, but when I ordered from them several years ago I had the EXACT same issue and got the EXACT same response about a family emergency. :no:
I placed an order over the summer - after 3 weeks of silence, I emailed and was given this response “We are a small mom and pop shop and we manufacture our own plates with a unique deep engraving process that takes a little longer than the usual scratching on the surface of the plate. We also tend to carry a crazy large volume due to the huge popularity of the deep engraving.” My order shipped 4 days later. I do like these plates and they are high quality but not sure I would order again if I needed something in a hurry.
So I just have to ask - from a tack shop perspective - why is it that some of you order over and over from this place and have to contact them over and over to get your orders and yet you seem ok with it? I would have no customers left if I ran my business this way.

I continue to order because their prices are outstanding and the quality of the product is FAR FAR better than any other tag I have ordered, and I have ordered a LOT from many other places. I did a series of comparison photos and posted them here once. Thicker plates, better engraving, better prices… It’s impossible to kill one of these tags. For that… I endure the wait time and order around it via eBay if possible.

I will repeat what Jo said- their tags really are amazing. With that said, I did receive the first tag I ordered, but I just canceled my second order because I do not want to wait another month. I ordered tags from elsewhere, and am hoping they turn out as nice!

Because they are very good quality at a very good price. Only Quillin can compare for halter tags, and they are more expensive. (I do prefer The Engraver over both HalterTags.com and Quillin for saddle plates, but those are kind of a different creature).
