For a smaller space, consider using a tour guide headset/voice amplifier. Our trainer uses one at shows to protect her voice, works great. It is basically a small headset (cordless) that pairs with a little speaker she slings over her shoulder. Amplifies her voice so she does not need to yell. Less than $100 and a great gift for any trainer (heck, even teacher!) who talks all day.
Cheap, effective and rechargeable. Only downside is that it would not broadcast into another room and cannot pair with a far away speaker - that requires fancier and more expensive PA systems. —> actually, scratch that, looks like Amazon comes with a solution for that as well. I have not used this but this could work as well, just not sure on the pairing range.
