I wanted to know how fast I ran around this weekend’s event, and found a very easy speed calculator website:

- In the first line, plug in the official distance of the course in meters.
- In the second line, plug in your official finish time.
- Specify meters per minute, and it tells you how fast you ran the course.
So I ran the 2034 meter training course in 4:09 seconds, and that’s 490 mpm…much faster than the 420 mpm optimum time but not quite the 520 that will be needed at prelim if we make a move up. Nice to have an easy way to figure this stuff out. I thought others might find it helpful.
