Hanna and her horse commercial
Some people are such prudes. Support your fellow woman’s right to wear whatever she wants, on tv or in real life, wherever she wants. Jeez.
You do know that the actress in the commercial has NO SAY AT ALL in what she wears, don’t you?
That’s why I think the horse is a Paso. He has a lateral walk.
The footfall sequence is in the same order for the walk, the rack, the running walk, the foxtrot, the tolte, the finos, the sobreandando, the llano and all the other various gaits that gaited horses perform. The difference is in the timing. The timing of the foot in the air and on the ground. As well as if the horse in in a ventroflexed frame or not. The running walk and foxtrot are not ventroflexed most of the others are.

Of course she does. She can say NO to the commercial. It’s a contract and most actors spell out specifically what they will/not do/wear. U really think she expected to be in jeans and a tee shirt and was surprised by the bikini??? After landing SI cover???

Well, from what I gather, actresses auditioning for roles as lawyers are asked to appear for castings in clothing one would wear to go clubbing…

Sooooo…

Well, you’re right. NOT making a living is a great feminist statement. :rolls:

And no, most actors do not spell out specifically what they will or will not wear. Most shoots have wardrobe people who decide that stuff.

Was she surprised? No. But a ferking commercial with some 3/4s naked gal in the water is also not a feminist statement, or a celebration of a woman’s ability to do what she likes. That argument is DOA.

What makes you think she has any interest whatsoever in making a feminist statement? And even if she does, what makes you think she would choose to make it in the same way you would? And how monumentally arrogant do you have to be to think you have even the slightest clue what she likes? And what evidence do you have that she has no options for making a living beyond appearing in a bikini?

People are free to choose their careers and what they do within those careers. The actress doesn’t appear to share your opinions. Neither do a lot of other people. Get over it.

I don’t like them and I, personally, don’t think they are funny. I DO like seeing a horse on TV, for a change. The woman is beautiful, so is the horse.

I don’t think the commercial is funny, I hate the accent, the bit is too low in the horse’s mouth, what the woman is wearing does not offend me, and I have no idea what product they are shilling. But I do like seeing horses on TV.

I don’t like them, love the horse but find the commercials dumb. Don’t particularly like the use of bikini clad women used to sell something, obviously an attempt to reach a target audience. If it was a product for men sure but does DirecTV think only men purchase their product? How about a speedo clad man on a horse selling DirecTV?

Actually the vast majority of actor/actresses and models DO have a list of what they are not willing to wear. How do I know? I was a model, as well as working in the modelling industry in a staffing role for years. My brother-in-law is a quite successful model. I have more than 5 friends who make their living modelling. They have a list of what they are and are not comfortable doing, wearing, saying ect. Their agencies hold these lists and firstly won’t cast them to anything that requires something on their don’t list and secondly if they are cast to something, will discuss requirements with the film company.

Well that’s different because it is gratuitous man skin. Duh

Agree with Engage. And women have a choice in wearing what they want to an audition.

I never realized bikinis were considered so scandalous in this day and age. On a woman who became famous as a swimsuit model, no less.

Justtheticket wants us to support a fellow woman in wearing whatever she wants without being considered a pawn.

Keep up.

The model can do whatever she damn well pleases, and the Buy-Stuff industry will do whatever it damn well pleases, but I, for one, will not “support the right” of exploitation in the name of supporting a fellow woman.

Where exactly is the exploitation happening??? Just because someone looks good, or plays a sport good, or has another specific talent or gift and can make a lot of money with that attribute does not mean she/he is being exploited. She is probably laughing all the way to the bank. I would be.

Meh. I just took it as a somewhat ironic and clever reference to all those silly slo mo nearly naked riders on the beach ads we see for perfumes and such, usually around the holidays.

I, too, was annoyed that even Hannah’s horse didn’t know the correct footfalls of his walk!!

I’m not all offended by bikini clad Hannah, because that fits in with the whole take off on the ads I referenced earlier, but I was somewhat annoyed by the goat. I feel goats have been overexposed lately in advertising, and not in a positive way.

Continuing the woman-as-sex-object bullshit is an exploitation of women in general.

Read. Explore the topic “Feminism” without first deciding that all those strident bra burners are unpleasant people on the face of it. Talk to your mom.

Hannah’s horse is obviously an off track standardbred pacer. That explains the foot sequence, he’s pacing. Lol

I didn’t realize wearing a bikini at a beach made you some kind of prostitute. Some people are such prudes. Support your fellow woman’s right to wear whatever she wants, on tv or in real life, wherever she wants. Jeez.

But really. Sex sells. Whatever company that is wants to make money and that’s how you get the money spenders’ attention. She’s in a bikini. So? She’s treating her body like a commodity? So? She could also be the smartest girl you’ve ever met. Don’t be so judgy.

“If that’s the opinion you have of your body”? Really? She’s hot and she wants to show it off while she can. Good on her. If I could get paid to walk around in front of a camera in my bikini, I’d jump all over it too. I work out and I look good naked, and while I’m not going to film that for the masses, I don’t think showing off in a bathing suit is anything to be ashamed of.

Its not like she’s being human trafficked. Its a stupid tv commercial. Honestly, the things people get offended by boggles the mind.
Yeah, I never noticed any complaints about the Old Spice Guy.

I really miss the Old Spice Guy.
