Hanoverian inspection at Rainbow Equus Meadows

Great day for an inspection, nice group of horses sired by a variety of stallions: Grusus, Landkönig, Werther, Fuerst Gotthard, Escudo II, Dacaprio, Lord Albert, Wild Dance , Rubignon, Stalypso, Le Primeur, Balou du Rouet , Fuerst Romancier and Landfriese II.
3 mares in the MPT with Five Star Fuerstin - Fuerst Gotthard/Diamont/Prinz Gaylord owned by Paige Mc Kibbin/bred by Rainbow Equus Meadows the top scoring mare of the group overall 8.11 and 9’s for jumping. Second was a nice Werther mare Ferradae owned by Sherry Musgrove with good jumping and ridability scores, overall 7.03
3 non Hanoverian mares, a TB mare and Arabian mare did not quite make a high enough score to be accepted and the Oldenburg mare Five Star Fuerstin got her second blue champion ribbon that day. I won a foal championship with her and had not seen her since she was a yearling so this was a great return and obviously Paige has done a wonderful job with her!
The top Hanoverian mare was Da Lana - Dacaprio/Ravallo mare owned by Gina Duran with 7.17 followed by Luxury Sweet R – Landkönig/Lundberg/Greenhorn owned by me and Ellusion – Escudo II/Fuerst Gotthard owned by Dana Pinto. The top 3 mares actually had the same overall score and were placed in order of highest conformation score. Followed by one more EE mare with a 7 score Emerald life R – Escudo II/Diamont owned by us also.
The futurity had 6 horses
Winner Yearling fillies Boadicia Lind (score 70.33) owned by Cara Choy and reserve her full sibling (ET)Balencia Lind both Balou du Rouet/Contendro and bred by Jennifer lind.
Two yr old filly reserve Leonisis Lind (72.54)Le Primeur/De Niro owned by Jennifer and champion Ruby Novella R (73.37) Rubignon/De Niro owned by Rainbow Equus Meadows.
Last but not least the 2 yr old colt with highest overall (74.37) and type and movement score (8.2) Landito R jumper bred Landfriese II/Pablito/Prinz Gaylord/Servus.

Congratulations

It sounds like a wonderful inspection all the way around. I wish you were closer, I would have loved to be there. I’m starting to get excited, ours is in three weeks. I can’t wait!

Such a pleasure to be at your inspection, Edgar. I always learn so much from the judges and enjoy looking at gorgeous Hanoverians and visiting. You make everyone feel so welcome. Loved seeing Five Star Fuerstin ridden so capably by Paige!

Sounds like a great day! Congrats to all.

We brought the Stalypso foal, Scherzo, for evaluation and branding. We were most appreciative of the judge’s comments. Great day.

It was a fun day and a good group of breeders and spectators as well as horses. Forgot to mention they picked our Hanoloosa colt (currently grey with spots) as the top colt of the day. Interesting for us as he is a multi-generation home bred from our own stallions - Rubignon/Fuerst Gotthard/Kalypso

Ooooh–Hanoloosa. Spots! Do tell. Want pictures. I SO remember lots of scoffs and snide comments when suggesting Appaloosa/warmblood crosses. I want.

Can we have pictures? What’s the Appy side? I bet he can jump.

Pretty sure the Hanoloosa part was a joke. Look at the pedigree - no App blood.

Yes a joke, Appy on both the left and right side ;), could be a Knappovarian or Hannstrupper for all we know but just by looks not on paper. He will probably jump but we know he mooooooves…

Man. I thought you were just giving the bloodlines on one side. You’re missing out I tell ya. You can’t break an Appy, and they are tough and smart and can jump. You might want to start doing some breeding for more interesting color!

I’m contemplating making a Swedaloosa or a Swedestrupper. You’re missing a whole market!

Just now seeing this, I shared lots of pics on Facebook and of course they are on my website. Just posted a pic of the “Hanoloosa” this morning =)

Edgar, do you know if the AHS will post the Futurity scores somewhere on the website? I know that the inspection page say the Top 5 yearlings and 2 year olds would share the Futurity funds, but no where can I find how you can find out if your horse has a high Futurity score (vs an average or low score). I only know what my boy got relative to the others at his inspection or through word of mouth from others attending other inspections.

It would be nice to see a listing of the Futurity scores kind of like USDF does for Sporthorse breeding in hand.

And since we are nearing the end of the Inspection tour (early Nov), I was just trying to find out more information.

Edgar, why don’t you and Susan fly in this weekend for the MAHB inspection??? We would all love to see you! And you need to see the sprouts that have grown up from the roots you sent me seven years ago!
