94? Barf. Most likely that will come later in the afternoon, so hopefully it will be “only” in the upper 80s or so by the time you get to the heavier work. Good luck!
Today is acclimation day, tomorrow is the inspection, where it will be in the 70s, thank God!
We did our jump chute acclimation earlier, she was SUPER. All the work at home paid off - she was confident and steady, even in a new arena. No whips needed, though that may change tomorrow with a bunch of people in the ring. Here is the jump chute:
We then walked around just to cool down. I might ride today, I might not. I don’t think I can even do much for how hot it is, and riding in the ring now doesn’t well replicate what it will look like tomorrow.
Oooo, 70s tomorrow, you might have a spicy girl
Spicy is fine, as long as Spicy remembers what a half halt is.
Just got done with her ride, she was great. Now to survive the afternoon, and prep her later.
Is there anything more kind than a Thoroughbred eye??? Love these photos, can’t wait for more tomorrow. Good girl Shaney!
Good luck
We’re all tucked in. I braided down, will roll and stitch in the morning. 17 braids, to help lengthen her neck. If I don’t like them in the AM I will be there early enough to redo them.
There are so many mares and foals together in stalls. Dory is wondering when her stall buddy will arrive, she thinks the babies are super cool.
Goodnight Shayney, sleep tight. Tomorrow is the big day!!
I’m going to iron my khakis and go to bed!
Good luck and have fun!
I’m following along here… what a neat experience! I hope all goes according to plan tomorrow and I’m looking forward to reading all about it!
Shaney is going to dream of having a little Hanoverian (eligible) foal of her own hahaha!
Sending all my luck your way today!
She looks great! Good luck!
Good luck today!
I’ve been following along and just wanted to say good luck today! She looks fantastic.
The braids look great!
She looks wonderful! You guys have got this in the bag!
Good luck, pretty girl! You look great!
LOL, my previous gelding would spook at the dumbest things, but LOVED babies! He definitely would have thought he should have one, too.
