Hanoverian stallion Earl

Does anyone have offspring by this stallion? What are their temperments like?

I have one and I really like her. Her dam is half TB (Le Primeur/Bit Of Elegancexx).

She is very smart, people oriented and a little more chill than her dam.

Any photos on your website? I’m looking at a filly by Earl out of Du Ferre (Dominator). She’s 2 1/2 and SO calm and laid back!

I have seen a few. All were black and nice hunter types.

blondmane – the COTH poster “belambi” has used Earl a few times in his/her breeding program. Their stallion “Harry Hotspur” is by Earl. Maybe you could PM him/her? Here’s the website: http://www.australiancolouredperformancehorses.com.au/

There was one come into our vet clinic this summer to be bred to Harvard. “Enya B” was very lovely to work with and a great mom. I believe she was bred by Mike Boyd then sold to our client who (I think) said she did the MPT, but I don’t know what the scores were. I was very impressed with her mind and movement for a jumper line mare, she had a super hind end in the trot and I am eager to see what the cross with a dressage stallion produces.

I have a dose of him in my tanks that I’m hoping to use in the future. I really liked him when I saw him in Germany. He was fairly good sized and a super mover. Any more on the offspring?

Kathy,

How would you describe his movement?

I find the fact that Celle doesn’t have videos of their stallions to be quite the bummer!

Judy

I saw him in the field and he was a big mover with a good hind leg. Nice shoulder. But, of course what he throws is more important to find out.

Kathy

There is a clip of earl under saddle from the hanoverian stallion show in january (I think) on clipmyhorse.de but of course you would have to pay for a membership.

The filly I purchased has a GREAT mind and seems to be a super mover. Granted, she’s only 2 1/2 but PRETTY! Would love to see video of the stallion or offspring.

I think I have some old video of him on a VHS tape that Eylers put out. Sometimes they come up on ebay, and I think SES or A1 may rent them too.

Heya

yes, harry is indeed by Earl… We have sold him though (one of those offers far too good to refuse.) He is now a gelding and showjumping.

Cannot speak highly enough of Earl.
He has thrown a few chestnuts, so not homozygou black.

Looking at some “Earl” semen for sale. Does anyone know what kind of size he throws? I know that his sire and sire’s sire are on the small side (which I like), but wondering if they get any size from the damline. Thank you in advance!

I was affiliated with an Earl stallion son - Dimitri - that was part of the RCMP breeding program and sold through their auction as a 3 year old. Here are a couple of video clips of him as a 3 year old:

He was then purchased by a client of mine and renamed Exxon. He is currently standing at Stonehouse Meadows in CO:

I quite liked him but he could get very strong and almost “bullheaded” at times but in all fairness to him, he wasn’t in the most “stallion ideal” situation before my client got him - in a riding school / boarding barn set up, with no firm, knowledgeable, consistent handler in charge of him on a day to day basis and as a result, he was strong and “unfocused” and seemed quite surprised that he was being reprimanded for it. Stacey and Jen Tarr at Stonehouse Meadows love him and he has really settled in well at their facility.

Here are some more video clips of him from a year ago as well …

He has one foal on the way in 2015 and should hopefully have several more in 2016

Hope this helps!

Thank you TrueColours!! I appreciate the extra input.
Exxon looks quite thick! Did Earl have that much bone?

crownridge - Exxon is a BIG boy with a lot of substance and bone. I really feel his best crosses will be with very refined, modern WB mares and TB mares. And old style mare would produce a really heavier, large foal I would think
