Hanoverian stallion Waltzertraum Moon

HorseTelex says this stallion was a 1992 model by Wenzel / Ataturk / Pikor (the Hanoverian Pikor), but I am trying to find info on his licensing status and SPT. I believe he stood in the U.S. Does anyone know anything about him?

I can scan his old AHS page(s) if you want and send them to you.

But from the paragraph in the 1996 Stallion Book-
“1995 East Coast Licensing Champion”
“1995 Grand Champion at NCDCTA Breed Show in Raleigh & Champion Hanoverian at PVDA & NCDCTA”
“At Devon, he was Purebred Hanoverian Champion, Champion Young Horse and Northeast Breeders Champion Young Horse” All scores were over 80%.

The rest of the text goes on about his bloodlines & famous relatives.

He stood at Strathmore Farm in Louisburg, NC at the time and was owned by Terry Tomlinson.
FWIW - he is listed as “Waltzertraum” at the time - that might help find more info about him.

Ah - we did not realize he was the same horse as “Waltzertraum”. I have now located him in the AHS books. Thanks for the tip!

Well, Happy Birthday to Winkle. I didn’t realize he was 20 this year. For those without an AHS stallion book, he was approved through performance. Hokan Thorn rode him perhaps? My memory’s going.

He stands at Bob Orton’s Buck Branch Farm in VA.

Yes - http://www.centerlinescores.com/Horse/Details/24128#filterBy=scores

And I am assuming he was considered fully approved by AHS due to his FEI performance - correct?

For some reason, I thought he died a few years ago. I will have to check my lists of deceased stallions.

I’ve emailed Sherra to make sure he’s alive and well. I’m almost positive I saw him this spring when I was there, but maybe it was last spring. The years run together.

At least I remembered Hokan correctly.

I can’t comment on his approval status.

I haven’t seen many offspring, as he has not been used much. Were you impressed by the mare at your GOV inspection?

Were you impressed by the mare at your GOV inspection?[/QUOTE]

To be honest, I didn’t get much of a look at her. She was first in the ring, and I was dealing with lots of other issues that morning (foal with choke, finding a space for the mare & foal assigned to the next stall, handler stuck in construction traffic, foal that wouldn’t unload from the trailer and then wouldn’t go into his stall, trying to line up a farrier to heat the WE branding iron, etc., etc., etc.). By the time I got into the arena, they already had the inspection underway.

The inspectors didn’t announce scores this year, but did say she would go into the MMB pending confirmation of the sire’s performance record.

Sherra says Winkle is alive and well - and is even expecting a foal next year. Go Winkle!

Chris - I wonder if you were thinking of Wummenstern.

You are right, I was thinking of Wummerstern.
