Yep, Beagle Shepherd mix. She is a hoot. Not a lap dog unless you have food. She dictates how long you can scratch or pet. She definitely rules the roost.
The old greyhound is named Max (racing name Rains Max), heās 13 yo former Irish racer and the sweetest boy on planet earth, heās such a gentle soul!
The grey rascal is a 3yo Lupino del Gigante, an ancient italian sheperd dog. They were almost extinct but an association saved the breed and now there are about 200. Her name is Runa and sheās way smarter than me LOL. Very smart, very lively, always busy, she likes everything: swimming , biking, hiking, ridingā¦sheās always ready for next adventure!
The couch potatoes:
I love to see a lot of houndies I love all dogs but sighthounds have a soft spot in my heart!
I want to buy some kind of shoes for my oldster, are these good? His feet ache on hard surfaces
We bought them for walking on sidewalk in winter. After a snowfall, everyone uses rock salt and it really irritates her paws. They did offer protection, when they stayed on, but there honestly isnāt much padding. They strap on with velcro but I have to get her outside (and distracted) quickly or she will find a way to shake them off.
I LOVE brindles. What a big beautiful boy.
Thank you
That smile ā¦ā¦
I have NEVER seen this! Amazing color, gorgeous!
Wow ! What a gorgeous trio of furry ladies !!
Thank you! Iāll give them a try, I saw they are not crazy expensive. I had just to give up a hike because of Maxās feet ache
Thank you! She produced four blue biās out of her two litters, and one black bi. At least in this part of the country biās are not as popular as blueās with copper or black triās. And in the confirmation ring blue biās and black biās have to be spectacular to get any points. That may be one reason you donāt see many where you live.
I got Eden as an adult (3 years old) from my mentor. Eden was āin foalā when I got her to one of my mentorās ASCA champion Rally dogs. He was a beautiful black tri with tons of copper.
I donāt know if they are popular or not, Iāve literally never seen or heard of one! The merles are always popular around here, of course. But I loved my Aussie mix (1/4 Kelpie) who was I guess a red bi, all he had was a bit of white on his chest and two front toes, and my red tri is gorgeous. Even so, my blue merle gets all the ooohs and ahhhs.
Shelties come in this color. Were they part of the combo when the breed was originally created?
One of the foundation breeds for Aussies were English Border Collies, which are biās so I would say biās have probably been a part of the breed for a long time.
