from the photo, Paisley looks like part Spaniel.
She actually hates swimming, she likes to wade chest deep looking for sticks and chasing frogs. @Larksmom I’m doubtful that there’s any spaniel in there. She’s taller and heavier (72 lbs) than most spaniel breeds and has a much thicker coat. The girl that I got her from had gotten her as a puppy and it’s possible that she saw both parents. I imagine it was a farm dog accident litter.
Buma comes from confirmation lines in Georgia where she was bred. She is very human like and is not houndy at all. But she will chase a squirel or run off the birds at the feeders. (cause she is a dog) She would rather survey the property; she is very much a house dog. Buma’s breeder has retired, but before she was given to me, she had a litter. One of her babies is in Ga with an experienced breeder and I can connect you to her if you like.
When I worked my former employer we had 3 that he imported from Africa; 2 bitches and a male. We had a litter from each female. (this was way back in 2003??)
The male, Zhou was very people oriented and lived with me in my cabin on the farm with our dressage rider (he chose her, he never left her side). He was an amazing dog and kind as could be.
The two females lived in the large kennel/dog area we had and loved everyone except strangers. They treed a few grounds keepers. Those females were very protective. They were all imported from South Africa when they were over a year old and had been trained to be guard dogs.
I would get another Ridgie. They are smart, independant, want to be with their “person” they can be very velcro.
My old man Riley, was a pittie/Black Mouth Cur cross and was never hound-ish.
They are big dogs. I love them.
Do Ridgebacks prefer to be the only dog. How easy are they to integrate into an existing pack do you think ?
Need picture! Blue bi??
I love them too and would have too many if I had less self-discipline!
sent you a PM
Awwwwwwho is the mini me?
The mini me is Ana, my cousin’s Boston. She’s Piggy’s best friend.
LOL OMG I want a dog named Mr. Pig. And a Mini Pig as well.
That’s adorable.
Me, too!
Although one could argue that all of my dogs are Mr. Pigs…
I’m late to the party but this is Willa… She’s a rescue from TN, Heeler/corgi (maybe )
This photo sums up life with Willa better than any other photo I have…
you forgot to post the photo!
That is sheer joy !!! Love this picture!!
Everyone should have a Mr Pig. . He’s close to a perfect boy. Gets along with everyone and everything. Even when my aunt’s 8 pound Yorkie attacks him he runs away:rofl:. The Yorkie has no teeth so no harm done.
Blue looks about 14.3 hands tall!!! Wow !! Lovely
Apparently I am not qualified to post both photo and verbiage at the same time. lol
Ohhhhhhh what a cutie!! Beagle shepherd hound ? Cuteasaurus?
