#5107 and #5121 Mule Driving Team. Both Johns (geldings). (Auction tag numbers were consecutive.) Both very sweet and gentle natured. #5121 (left side of team photos) was very friendly. He enjoyed having his ears scratched. Approximate 6 years old. 14.3 hands. #5107 (right side of team photos) was polite but skittish when his ears were touched. Did nothing mean, just moved his head away. Approximately 7 years old. 15 hands. $650 each.

Thanks, Beowulf. I probably shouldn’t have asked because I don’t have space, but they look so lovely… Going to put out some feelers on their behalf.

THEY ARE URGENT!!! Going to ship soon if no one can save them. : (

Update! Thanks to the generosity of a COTH-er, these guys are going to a rescue in Maryland. Libby2563 networked them to safety. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Thanks to OP for posting the info and to whichever Cother paid the bail for those 2 good looking mules. Mules are fun. I used to ride my great-uncle’s mules when I was a kid.

And thanks to beowulf for posting the pix.

Awesome!

Great Job ! Libby 2563 !

I bailed the mules out this morning and helped get them settled in at a lovely donkey rescue. They are very sweet boys who have been used hard in the past. I think with some love they will be gorgeous again. I’ll update with pics soon. I’m also going to visit them once their quarantine is over and I’ll update with more!!

Yay, I couldn’t be happier for them! I admit I teared up a little when we pulled into the rescue and I saw the happy healthy equines all around.

Can’t wait for photos. I love a happy ending.

I have teared up more than a little!!! Thank you for saving them…my husband and I want to come visit them!!!

Awww, they are sooo cute! They both have that soft curious look. It will be cool to find out more about their personalities and training. I hope you keep us posted on that as well!

Thank you for being a kind and generous person, Libby, and thank you Bathsheba for bringing this to light.

Just seeing this now but thank you for rescuing them, they are so sweet looking, they deserve a good home.

Another update: the mules (Fred and George Weasley) are doing great! They’re out of quarantine and recently moved into their very own pasture. They’ve put on weight and their coats are looking healthier. George has proven to be a fearless love bug who enjoys ear scratches and stands stock still for grooming without a halter on (he turns himself around when he thinks the other side needs attention). Fred is a little less confident so far, mostly because George is the boss and likes to hog the limelight.

Here are some photos of them from yesterday and today:

They will be looking for a forever home soon! Anyone??

They look so much better already!!! Can’t wait to go visit and meet them.
