Hard boiled egg whites...will your dogs eat them?

Every dog I’ve ever had, including the current, “hungriest” dog on the planet (she’ll eat anything, including non-edible things like the couch stuffing, and is on a perpetual diet), have refused to eat them. Picky dogs, not picky dogs…doesn’t matter, they apparently don’t consider hard cooked egg whites to be food.

They have an odd texture, have no smell, have little taste, but they are food! I eat them, but, nope, no dog I’ve ever known is having it. They’ll take a boiled egg apart and eat the yoke, but the white is always carefully left alone.

I’ve never had a dog NOT love them! My cats on the other hand love the yolks but turn their noses up at the whites and act like I’m trying to poison them.

All my dogs have always LOVED eggs, all parts, in any culinary variation. Your dogs are special

Scrambled they eat just fine. Hard boiled, they kind of lick them and then walk away. They don’t get it either

Mine carefully eat egg whites, picking around any shell.

I give mine half a hardboiled egg frequently. They love them.

Yep, it is a treat for my guys. Shell and all!
