I found these photos on another group, and wondered about the piece between the upper collar and short tugs from hames. Have not seen a harness set up this way before. Is the piece for straight shouldered horses, or just an option that is not commonly seen on harness? I did think the rest of harness looked rather rich, russet in a trade harness! To just observe the harness, it appears the quality is very nice.

The collars with the “spotting?” seem common on the trade turnouts. Are they added trim, metal or leather? Had not seen that style before either!
Going thru the photos, it appears the delivery folks had a common idea on stylish cobs, who have a good turn of speed! Lots of knee, with good action in front and back, attractive. Look built to pull with straighter shoulder for wearing a collar, up-headed, flashy markings. Viewing the clear photos, the vehicles all have extremely nice decoration. Shows some other “floats” I believe you called them, the flatbed wagon types, with trimmed sides, rubber wheels. All nice looking animals and vehicles for advertising your place of business.
