Harry Dabbs Saddles

I’ve ridden in a newer model HD saddle a few times and I liked it, so when i found an older, flat model (I like flat) for $50, I decided to splurge to try it.

Got it today and it fits my horse much better than his current. It isn’t custom 100% perfect, but it is very close. I’m sure it could use a reflocking anyway. It needs some serious leather care, and it needs a little cosmetic help (new seat eventually, a few stitches, etc). I did find a serial number on it while cleaning, and beside the cosmetic stuff the billets and everything are in great condition.

So can anyone tell me about older mode Harry Dabbs CC saddles? Do you love them, hate them, or can’t live without them.

If I fix it up will I have a decent resell eventually or are they like Crosby’s (no resell for older models)?

I can’t wait to ride in it!

I have an older Harry Dabbs saddle, it actually has an adjustable tree. It is 2 tone Dark Havana/Havana color. It must be, oh, about 20 years old now. I got it very lightly used on consignment from a tack shop. Most comfortable AND durable saddle I’ve ever owned. The seat has a slight amount of fade/color change from my sweaty butt, and the rain, but that’s about it.

…Plus it fits 2 different horses well, and matches both of their bridles:)

Have no idea of resale value, I won’t ever let mine go. They are a well made saddle, and I think for $50, you got a nice deal. I hope you enjoy it!
