Are they good saddles? Contemplating buying one for a medium wide warmblood mare with big shoulders. I have a Roosli that looks to my eye to be a good fit but I am not sure I like the deeper seat or not.
I have a fairly new Harry Dabbs Classic. It seems to be very good quality. It broke in pretty quickly and I like the more moderate seat.
Jaguar was the premium line of Harry Dabbs saddles. Jaguar and Harry Dabbs parted ways over 10 years ago (now the premium line is Harry Dabbs Platinum) so any Jaguar saddle has been around for a little while. It’s worth mentioning that some sub-par saddles got made around the time the company changed hands (I think about 15 years ago) so while the saddles now and overall are really good quality, it’s worth having a close look at anything used. There is a lifetime warranty on the tree.
Features you can expect to see on a Jaguar or Platinum saddle are beautiful leather, wide channel, upswept panel (the Classic line mentioned by SillyHorse has a gusseted panel), and excellent balance. They are especially good on horses with big shoulders.
