Does anyone know if any of his family is still living, or does anyone know anyone who knew him back in the day? I have a friend looking to interview someone who knew him for an article.

I’d suggest you contact the museum of hounds and hunting at Morven Park, they can likely give you good info:

And while you are there, join! It’s a great museum that all should visit whenever in the Leesburg area!
For reasons having to do with my age, I cannot exactly be sure of this, but I do remember having a conversation with Thomas Lee Higgenson Jr. a few years ago in Warrenton VA. We grew up in the same small village on Long Island and I swear he said he was a descendant of Harry Worcester Smith. Don’t ask me why this sticks in my head. The only thing I could find online was his wedding announcement to Feroline Burrage Higgenson. It of course gives more info on her, but only goes back two generations on Tommy. I believe they still live in Warrenton. It’s a shot anyway.
What wonderful and interesting hunt history - The MOCB regularly meets at Mr. and Mrs. Higginson’s farm in the Orange County country near Rectortown, VA. (meet there 2x this eason thus far). Mrs. Ferloine Higginson was for many years a jt MFH at Warrenton Hunt, VA. I believe she nows enjoys capping at different hunts. They have a large farm in a wonderful part of county called “Lost Corner” due to the privacy of that neck of the woods. I am sure that if you contacted the WH or the MOCB they could put you in contact with her. Do let us know how it works out!
