Has a Liability Release Saved Your Bacon? If so, I'd Like to Interview You

I’ve written an article for TheHorse.com on liability releases and would like to interview any U.S. folks who have had positive experiences with liability releases either preventing a lawsuit, or resulting in a positive outcome. If you’d like to participate, please post on this thread, or you can email me directly at info @ equinelegalsolutions.com (no spaces).

Thanks in advance for your input!

I have no input but looking forward to the article.

I had a positive experience 45 years ago. Does that count?

I was in high school, and teaching a few lessons a week on my horse.
The neighor, who was a lawyer, drew up a release for us. He also explained that the release could not protect us from charges of “neglignece”.

One of my students, who was just learning to canter, fell off and broke her arm. Her parents approached my parents about paying the medical bills, but my parents reminded them of the release. Nothing more was said, and she continued to take lessons from me until I went off to colelge, and then from my sister for several years.

Janet, thank you so much for offering to contribute! Something a bit more current might be more meaningful to the readers, though.
