Has anyone attended the "r: B & C Jumping/Course Design Training Program"?

Has anyone attended this program? As an auditor vs the official path?

I’ve been interested in attending and learning more, but looking to understand the differences in the paths and other’s experience.

2025 will be at Majestic Oaks March 21-23 if others are interested.

A colleague and I did the Cross-country course designer program together this year - we started with the training program this February 2024 at Fresno, California, on the official path. It was a great course and I learned a lot. The attendees were a mix of new applicants and those doing their updating (you must attend one every 3 years) - Cross-country designers, TDs, and Judges.

The best advice I can give you is if you want to attend in an official capacity (I didn’t know you can audit), start your checklist NOW. There are requirements including background checks that take a bit of time, and it was very stressful trying to do this all in a short time-span!

There is an “officials’ grant” available to apply for which could help defray costs of attending the course - definitely apply.

Nancy Knight is the Senior Director of Education and she is very helpful and responsive - if you haven’t already, send her an email and she’ll put you on the list for getting information etc. And she will assist with making sure you are getting all the right requirements checked off!

My friend and I both did all our apprenticing and attended the final exam in Georgia in October, which we both passed. It was an intense but very satisfying year!

I actually started doing it but then never did much more, so I’ve gotten the background checks completed. I’ll have to check and see where I am on the checklist!
