My daughter is there this week for some demonstrations. Would love any info on what the E Village is like.
I overheard a “senior” WEG volunteer saying the folks in the Equine Village are really upset with the WEG organizers because they are WAY off the beaten path, and not getting much foot traffic through the Equine Village. Apparently they feel the signage is poor, minimally promoted, and hardly anyone who wouldn’t know to look for it knows it is there, these folks are not happy…
Wow, I hadn’t heard about that. Then again, my daughter doesn’t start demoing until tomorrow around 6 pm. I couldn’t even tell from the map on the Alltech site where the arenas are for the Equine Village.
I know that today they had to go haul to a racetrack and the ex-trotters weren’t exactly excited to be there. She said that the younger horse got very upset. I told her the horses walked in and thought “WTF … you’re not gonna make me race again!” They didn’t stay there and they won’t be going back.
I agree it’s far off the beaten path, and what a shame! The demos are fun. It’s too bad the breed and organization tents are over there, too. Overall this is a nice ‘quiet’ place to get some respite from the crowds, and that’s too bad! Hope your daughter has a good week!

Thanks for your well wishes.
And be sure to stop at the Irish villiage and tell us all about it.
Where’s the jealous smiley?
We tried to go see a Clinton Anderson demo and the signs and maps were so poor we never found it and gave up. I’ve been so busy with paid events that getting back over there just hasn’t been a priority and I doubt I’ll make it today either. Too bad as I’m sure the performers are working hard.
We wandered over on Thursday. Area off the beaten path, no directional signs, and crowd was sparse. Parelli booth had Pat in it, and very noisy. KHP desperately needs signs along some of the paths. Asked several times by others where arenas, etc were.
According to my husband who watched one of the demonstrations on friday the grand stands were packed with more in the aisles…so the turnout was very much improved over the weekend.
Did you all see Mao’s posts with photos? She’s in the Native Village with her 2 horses Billy Jack and Blue Moon Rising (Moonshine) and the one photo I saw the stands were full for the demo. Not sure how busy they are in the village.
I’m hoping she posts here again soon.
Signage at the WEG is definitely lacking! A lot of the volunteers have told me that people are very grumpy because they don’t know where everything is. The grounds map is also very difficult because it doesn’t show the road names in KHP and so many things are not labeled.
WEG volunteers are also not very savvy about where things are. I asked 14 volunteers on Friday where the XC start box was, and not one knew or even had a map that showed it. Very frustrating.
Didn’t hear from my daughter this evening and it’s too late to call. Was anyone at the Equine Village this evening around 6ish?
