Has anyone bought a horse from Picturesque Farm in Warrenton? Experiences?

I have a student looking for a lower level all-arounder, and I remember looking at a few sales horses online at Picturesque Farm many years ago (like 20!), but I never actually drove out there to see anything.

Am interested in finding out more about them from anyone who has had experiences - TIA!

While I’ve not dealt with her directly I’ve known several people who bought a horse through and highly recommended her when I was looking. I would say she must have a very good reputation because it seems as soon as a horse is posted on the website or FB it’s sold. She did have a horse I was interested in but couldn’t get down to see it unfortunately and sold before I could get down there. A friend recently got a horse from there. She was hesitant at first because she thought the horses would be out of her budget. I suggested she contact them anyway and she found a lovely horse right within price range. A friend’s daughter also takes lessons there and has nothing but good things to say about it. If I were looking again, that’d be one of the first places I’d look and keep in touch with during my search.

I have had many horses from Picturesque in my barn! Kristy is accurate and fair in her representation of the horses she consigns.

If you as the trainer speak with her, be straightforward about your rider’s ability level and she’ll do her best to find a good match if your budget is reasonable.

As with any time I am buying a horse, I’m going to take whatever the seller is saying with a grain of salt. I have found that horses go really well in her program, so what you see is perhaps the best they’re going to go.
