Has anyone DIY-ed a ComfortStall, SoftStall or other mattress-type of stall flooring?

In considering ComfortStall for our horse’s oversized stall, the price seems rather high, although I love the product (I’ve boarded where they have it, my horses love it and so did I, to be honest).

So I’m wondering how feasible it would be to install something like it ourselves, and if so, what materials exactly should we buy and where? And how would installation then go? Just interested in saving money if possible, with this.

I am in the same boat as you…

Me too. Let me know if you do it.

We did ours when we redid my old barn. It was not hard. Get quotes from the difference place to find the best price. They will tell you what you need to do to prep the site. The prep work was more work than putting in the softstall.

We have Softstall, and my husband installed it. First we did the Softstall Advantage. Please don’t do that (ours failed). The vendor was kind and honored our warranty and we’ve had the regular Softstall as a replacement for one year. Horses love it, And I notice that it keeps the barn warmer. Installation is not hard, there are lots of youtube videos. It takes a full day to do one stall for us, but my husband is anal (and the horses appreciate it!).
