Has anyone ever had dealings with Peter Berkers from Holland?

Beginning December 2010 this guy from Holland contacted me and wanted to buy a cremello stallion and a cremello mare for an Indonesian client. When the client apparently said okay after sending of photos etc, Mr Berkers demanded instant vet check and chipping of the two horses as he said they must leave in December. Then the payment was to be later and later and later. To make a long story short the payment never came but he promised to pay the vet’s bill who had done the vet checks and chipping for him. Now last week my vet told me that the bill was still not paid for and I sent him an email but no reply.

So I thought I ask here if someone had similar dealings with this guy.

My very good friend used to be partners with him but is no longer. He had some health issues and I thought he was no longer involved in horses. He used to be a good guy but I know she was no longer comfortable doing business with him after some of the health stuff happened (I think a brain tumor but could be TOTALLY wrong).

I can ask her for more details if it is helpful. It sounds like you maybe are lucky just to get away with the costs incurred at this point though (at least you still have your horses and no other major damages?).

No not done business with him. Did you send the horses to him? Or did he vet the horses, not take them and not pay the bill?

The vet here did the vet check, all was fine and okay, the bet bill was sent to him and he did not pay the vet bill and never the horses, just fooled me weeks and months about his client and payments. I would never let a horse go from the property that is not paid.

So he got his vet checks, horses were okay but he never paid anything but my vet wants his bill paid and I do not want to pay for this guy as it seems he is not honest nor reliable.
