Has anyone experienced delay from Samshield recently?

Hi all, I ordered a custom helmet from them in April but due to miscommunication between the online store and Samshield, the order has been delay for four months by now. I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue recently? Does anyone know how long it takes for Samshield to produce a custom 2.0 these days? Also, anyone knows where I may find the terms and conditions of customizing helmet with them? I’m thinking to withdraw from the contract but I’m not sure how to :pensive:

Thank you very much

Order placed in January showed up in April. Have heard that it is pretty typical for them.

They have just released the 2.0 versions of the Shadowmatte and the Miss Shield. They had significant slowdowns in production during this time.
Thee was also a change in safety standards by ASTM which slowed production of some helmets.

Who did you order it through? Samshield does not sell direct-to-consumer so you need to be in touch with the store that placed the order for you. I run a tack store and there were some delays with the 2.0 launch, and they were quoting 8-12 weeks for customer orders.

Hi, I ordered it through hypostore.com in late April, and they have given numerous excuses. In mid July I asked and they said:
Samshield has told us your helmet will arrive here on the 2nd of August.

After a few days around end of July they delayed it another month to 23rd Aug, I asked for the reason and they said:
Unfortunately the product is delayed at Samshields warehouse. Therefore the delivery time got postponed. I’m very sorry for that. As soon as the helmet comes in here, we’ll contact you immediately!

And now I got another email saying it’s delayed to 30 Aug.

Is there anyone familiar with Netherlands regulations? I would like to file a complaint with the regulators for customer protection and have my money back. This is no chance it can arrive before the show season starts in my country.

Reason #1,325 why ordering through your local tack store is always a better move. :upside_down_face:

Unfortunately we don’t have any “local” tack shop technically :pensive:

Unless your local tack shop consistently messes up custom orders

So order from any of the other hundreds of independent shops in the country that can provide appropriate support when a manufacturer drops the ball.
