Has anyone recently had the floor of a trailer (and maybe also the ramp) replaced with rumber?

I have a Hawk 2H straight load with a ramp. I love it.

Hubby used to to pick up a zero turn mower, and in the process ripped the corner up of the mat revealing that some of the wood on the edges of the ramp was a bit splintery. So obviously that woods needs to be replaced and I will have them check the wood inside the trailer floor too (I get it checked yearly but had not thought to ask them to check the ramp).

Wondering if it makes sense to replace the wood with rumber. Has anyone done this? Pros/cons? Rough cost? Bonus if you’re in the mid atlantic (greater Philadelphia/South Jersey area) and can recommend someone.

I did a search and could only find OLD threads and they were about ordering with rumber, not replacing.

I have rumber in mytrailer ndilove it.

But I understand that retro-fitting rumber is not easy because the supports need to be much closer together than for wood.

Rumber Is more flexible than the treated pine used in most trailer floors. Your trailer frame may need to have more cross bracing welded in to support it.

Rumber requires cross bracing every 12 inches on center when used as flooring in a horse trailer. Every 9 inches on an equipment trailer.

In 2012 I had my Brenderup’s floor replaced with Rumber. They added cross bracing, no big deal. Local trailer repair place did it.
