Following, I was considering whether or not to buy his program but was unsure if it offered anything really meaningfully different from my existing stretching program.
There used to be a short free kind of trial video on his website. It’s definitely NOT stretching.
I have not ridden with Dave, but I’ve taken two of his courses. To me, its about creating mindfulness around the way the skeleton moves and how one part affects another. Some things are more like “exercises” that you can repeat or think about while riding. Others are more about feeling something in the moment and letting your body use the information subconsciously.
That sounds interesting, did you feel like it was a “game changer” for you? I’m open to buying his program but it’s a bit pricey and I’d like to make sure it’s meaningfully better than my yoga/Qigong routine. It sounds like it may be!

There are a few videos where he’s teaching a mat class over zoom so you could try it before committing to a full course. I’ve done a few classes and a few things were magic. It doesn’t do anything specifically for tight muscles, so I don’t want you to go in thinking it will.
It’s not exercise, so I wouldn’t go into it thinking it will replace what you already do. It’s extra, on top of my pilates/weights/running/stretching. It really depends on where you are as a rider and how much awareness you already have. I wouldn’t say it was a game changer for me, but I found some very welcome improvements after classes - like better straightness in my tempis.
Really interesting, I didn’t realize he did some Zoom classes, I’ll check those out! I work with a Mary Wanless trainer on position but there’s a certain “letting go” at the base of my spine that I have struggled to achieve.

I have hosted a few clinics for Dave. He offered a riding lesson or a Feldencraus (not spelled correctly) Completely love his lessons on the horse and on the ground. I will say the body awareness/stretching lessons did increase my leg length a whole inch… I have not taking any of his online classes only because my internet connection is garbage always disconnecting.
