Has anyone successfully re-soled Blundstones?

I have lace Blundstones that are no longer made. The uppers are in great shape, but the soles have completely peeled off.

Has anyone successfully re-soled Blundstones? If yes, were the new soles as flexible? Where did you get it done?

TIA!

I had my husband’s Blundstones resoled and the shoemaker did an amazing job. I had truly thought they were beyond help and brought them in mostly on a lark.

This is the place that did them:
http://shoedr.ca/ Pretty sure it is no where near where you live though…

Key to the success is probably the fact that he is
a) an excellent shoe repair guy (he even did an amazing job on my riding boots)
b) he sells Blundstones
c) he is committed to sustainability so did not just try to sell me another pair.

Hopefully you can find someone similar. Maybe he would do mail order work?

Yes! I did a search on the Coth forums and found the name of a place in (I think) Oregon or Washington State. I recall it cost about $65 last year…and they look like brand new boots! You just mail them, they resole them and ship them back to you. I think it took less than 2 weeks.

Awesome, thanks!

Kicking myself for not looking into this further before buying a new pair… :frowning:

FWIW–the link above still works, the shop in Oregon still seems to do solid work (same guy since 1990, looks like), and I have two pairs of Blundstones that I was about to toss that look about like new, though it cost me $86/pair.

The soles of one of the pairs originally blew apart after one week of use, though, so while I give top marks to this service I still have a lot of hate for Blundstone themselves and their hydrolizing soles, and the company disclaims all responsibility 30 days after purchase. If I ever buy another pair of paddock boots of this style I’m going with Redback! (Their offering is very similar to Blundstone, but they’re still made is Australia and have an ever wider range of sizes!)
