I have been a member of the USEF for years in spite of not having competed for a while. I had read on this forum years ago that the insurance coverage was worth the price of membership. This sounded reasonable and in recent years I have feed my dog Smart Portions and bought other items from Smart Pak so the membership pretty much paid for itself. I admit to not deeply researching the insurance issue, I believed I was getting a little more liability coverage (I already have homeowners and an umbrella, but you never know with juries, no thing as too much liability coverage IMHO). I just went to renew and an optional insurance policy seeming to cover me personally popped up at $25.00. I then tried, unsuccessfully to find the membership benefits on the website. So I am confused, are they now charging $25.00 for something that used to be included at no extra cost, or is this just an additional bit of insurance that was never previously available? Also any thoughts on whether it is a good value?
This is the same thing I found. Last year the insurance was included with the membership…this year the insurance is an add on to the membership. I don’t show, so the membership in and of itself doesn’t interest me.
yeah I noticed that too…
Also noticed. Haven’t renewed yet but that’s a big deal.
I have to renew early because of judges cards…another example of charging more and getting less, sigh
