Hello hay experts, I need to build a hay barn that can receive hay squeeze loads. I need to know the dimensions that the barn needs to be. I would like to be able to receive 30 tons of hay into this barn if possible. If it all won’t fit, I have another barn I can fit some into.
Here are my questions:
1)Isn’t the demension of a squeeze of hay like 8 x 8 x 8?
2)How many tons in a squeeze of hay?
3)How many squeezes in a 30+ ton truck and trailer?
4)How high does a barn need to be to receive one squeeze high of hay? 12 feet, or would 10 feet work?
5)How high does the barn need to be if you want to stack two squeezes high?
I am thinking that I will probably build something like 24’ deep by 36 wide, with the option of adding on more later. I am thinking three 12’W x 24’D would be super nice and hold quite a bit of hay.
I would like to maximize my efforts and building dollars, of course! If I can build a barn that is tall enough to hold a double high squeeze, but with a smaller footprint to the barn, I would entertain that thought. That would have to be a 20’ high ceiling or something?
