Hay in Lexington, KY

I am looking for an alfalfa mix in Lexington that is not too coarse. I need it delivered and put in a loft, but there is an elevator at the farm. I can only take 1-2 tons at a time. I’d appreciate any leads; everyone I know has either run out, has poor quality stuff, or will only deliver huge amounts.

Please either PM or email. Thanks!

I know a fella in Nelson County…

Who has LOVELY alfalfa…maybe some grass, but mostly alfalfa…who may deliver to Lexington…let me find out and I will post a reply tomorrow…

Awesome!! Thanks for your quick reply!

Jeff at Six (or five?) Winters Farm. Nicest Alfalfa I’ve ever had.

alfalfa

I also would like to get my hands on some good alfalfa, as I have a 24 year old OTTB who won’t eat anything but top-shelf alfalfa, and last year I paid waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy to much for three string 140 lb. bales ($26).

No deliveries but…

some good alfalfa …prolly about 65 pound or 70 pound bales at 7.00 a bale. He will load it on your truck but won’t deliver. It is in Fairfield…a small town about 10 or 15 miles off the Bluegrass Parkway in Nelson County.

Do you have his contact information? I can only fit about 10 bales on my truck, but may be able to borrow something to pick it up with.

Thanks!

Can’t deliver but

I can’t deliver but I’d be happy to trade some of the alfalfa I have for some decent orchard grass. I’d bought from the same supplier for several years and it’s been a really nice mix with mostly orchard grass. Didn’t think to double check that this year and the hay they delivered is alfalfa. I have a horse that doesn’t do well on alfalfa. I’m trading some with my neighbor but her’s also has more alfalfa than I’d like. I’m a little south of Danville.

If you know where I could find some decent orchard grass, I would be happy to make a trade!! The stuff I have right now is pretty poor quality timothy and I really don’t think you’d want it. My horses aren’t touching it.:dead:

Well…

Not off the top of my head but I’ll keep my eyes open.
