Hi everyone,
New here and I need some help.
Brought my horses home in July. Got a shipment of what I thought would be nice grass hay. Half the bales look like straw and I can’t use them. The hay isn’t keeping the horses weight up and they usually will only pick through the hay. I need new hay, like yesterday. Does ANYONE know of a good hay supplier near Schwenksville PA? I’m looking for straight grass hay or a grass/alfalfa mix. I can pick up, but only in loads of about 50 bales or so. I need 100-200 bales (but I’ll take what I can get as long as it’s good hay). I know it’s late in the year to be buying hay and I’m starting to panic. I asked my old B.O for her hay guy’s number and he doesn’t have any hay left.
So, if anyone knows a hay supplier that has good hay and might have some left, PLEASE let me know.

You didn’t say whether you have a truck or not. Personally, You are much better off if you can haul hay for yourself. This way you can go and look at the hay, maybe just take a few sample bales home if you aren’t sure and it’s easy to haul 40-50 bales in a truck alone. Much more if you have a trailer also. There are a lot of growers who simply don’t deliver but have some nice hay for sale.

John Black up on rt. 73, just outside of Schwenksville in Skippack, is a livestock dealer/auctioneer; and would also have plenty of outlets for you.
