Hi all! My horse was recently diagnosed with asthma and I am looking in to hay steamers. I know haygain is the big one, but also is no longer in business. What is everyone using for steaming hay? Any particular brand? If you do have a haygain- how is longevity? Any particular parts to stock up on or expect to break easily? Also, is it worth buying the full bale one for a single horse or is the half size doable? Thanks in advance

Haygain is AMAZING. I have a small one and am going to get diligent about using it again to manage allergies.
I have the small one, for when I had 1 horse that required it. Then I got horse 2 and got the medium size one because I had to start steaming for 2 and the small one was not convenient for the boarding barn to use so even though both of those horses are in heaven, I still have both. I love Haygain and do not wish to part with either of them just in case I need them in the future!!
I think that the medium size is the best, even for one horse. But it depends on if you board or your horse is at home. At home, the small is probably fine because you can run it as often as you wish.
