Haygain steamer drainage hole

I was wondering if those who have a haygain steamer could educate me on the drainage hole on the bottom of the main chest. I’m specifically wondering if it’s the type of drain hole that I could attach a hose to and allow the drainage to go elsewhere.

All of the YouTube videos of the steamer have it in use in a wash stall, or outside. I don’t have a wash stall, and live in Canada so outside isn’t a wintertime solution. I was thinking if I made a little heated room for the steamer it would solve my freezing issues. But the drainage hole remains problematic.

Thanks!

the drain should be protected with a conical-shaped cover to keep it from being covered over thus plugging the drain

also it may be advisable to use a heat cable on or in the drain discharge line to keep it from freezing (look for a roof freeze cable that are used above gutters …cable could be run inside the drain or attached to the drain …we used these cables to keep ground tracked sliding doors/gates from freezing to the rail systems by running the cables inside the metal track systems)

A drain cover could be fabricated on site using hardware cloth if needed

(our problem was not protecting draining from freezing but we had one horse who was allergic to most of the world whose stall needed to be air conditioned, the drain from the AC was a daily checked item…and the filters to the unit where cleaned twice a day)
