Haynets in Water Trough

I am trying to rig together a slow feeder hay net in an old trough for turnout in a paddock. I already have an idea how I am going to secure it so it doesn’t come out and laying on the ground.

What haynet do most of you like? I don’t need the smallest holes for my TB but something that will fit a good amount of hay, sturdy, durable and easy to work with. He gets feed breakfast and lunch outside so it woudl be filled twice a day.
.
I see many options, different hole sizes, different prices etc.

Thanks,
Marc

I use the Hay Chix nets. Not the cheapest but I’ve been happy with the quality and design. They usually have a Black Friday sale, so keep an eye out for some deals!

This is one suggestion they have for an easy way to use a trough to feed, which I use: https://www.facebook.com/thehaychix/photos/a.179785275403710/1546740638708160

Someone on here recommended the Nag Bags. I recently replaced my aged nets with them and LOVE them. No knots and the material is soft but really durable. I’m clipping mine to the bottom of water tubs as well.

I have to second the haychix nets. They are very durable. I’ve had them for about a year and they have held up amazingly well with some very agressive eaters.

3rd for haychix- I have a bunch of their nets in different sizes and when I first got them I was feeding them in 40-gal water troughs that has been beaten up. Drill a hole in end of the and tether the filled net. I think it might be similar to what Leather linked to, but I couldn’t get the link to go through to see.

Great, thanks for the ideas!

I use nagbags as well - and also in a water trough for safety around shod horses. Love them.

Um. So clearly I quoted the wrong post. Whoops!
