Health hint

I planned to get flu and covid together. RN wouldn’t do both. 2022 flu vaccine apparently is stronger, more complex, more something. Some people are getting a strong reaction when they are combined.
Friend’s husband got really sick overnight.

(Please avoid arguing about use of vaccines. My choice yes, yours maybe different. Private decision.)

I had both, one on each arm.
No reaction at all to the covid vaccine, just a bit of a sore spot where given, for the flu one.
Flu vaccine was the super duper senior one.

No one here is recommending not to get both at the same time, for most people?

So interesting.
I have not done either yet. Flu shot clinic at work is tomorrow, they are only doing flu shots.

There are commercials by one of the major drug stores encouraging people to get both flue and covid boosters at the same time.

Definitely the wrong place for this thread… @Moderator_1 can you help the OP out and slide this over?

According to the CDC a person can get both the flu and COVID vaccine at the same time:

There is no recommended waiting period between getting a COVID-19 vaccine and other vaccines. You can get a COVID-19 vaccine and other vaccines, including a flu vaccine, at the same visit. Experience with other vaccines has shown that the way our bodies develop protection, known as an immune response, and possible side effects after getting vaccinated are generally the same when given alone or with other vaccines.

I got both together, plus tetanus (by a doctor). No problems except a sore(ish) arm.

Got both together in the same arm. No other symptoms other than a sore arm for 24 hours, and even that was milder than the other times.

I got one in each arm, the new Bi-v Covid and the 4x Senior influenza. The Covid was more sore and a bit warm, the influenza a big nothing. I have had the 4x senior one before. Certinly if you are a big reactor to vaccines, beyond the usual muscle inflammation, space them out, Giving them together is not contraindicated.

I would certainly never get anything at the same time as Shingles, that vaccine is a &itch

Same here, DH and I both got both shots on the same day, same arm even. No problems except the expected sore arm, and I was a little tired the day after.

Had them both at the same time, same arm, and had absolutely no issues. Same with my husband! No regrets and glad we did it!

I wouldn’t get both together. Our camp in Afghanistan was named after a young soldier that died after too many at one time. She didn’t realize she had an autoimmune disease. There is no point to doing them together.
