And to have seen her face brighten and her spirits lift when she saw that trailer pull in, and even moreso when she got off the trailer, saw her new digs and new BUDDIES - words just can’t describe it. :sadsmile: (that’s a happy, teary smiley!)
She definitely hit the horsey lottery.
Wow, just scrolled through all the new photos on FB and that mare is truly in horse heaven. I won’t be at all surprised to see that in the next set of photos, she will be looking a lot more like the OTHER fat and sassy horses she now lives with!
Are all the horses in the other pasture geldings? I swear, I was waiting for them to bust out in a chorus of “There Is Nothing Like A Dame” when they came charging through the gate.

Lol, so true! I think there is another mare in the group IIRC, but I can’t be certain. They sure were happy to see her, though!
I want to mention that we now have more dribble from sdlbredfan, RoyalTRider, carolprudm, and sunset ponies. Total from those donations was $80, which has been forwarded on to BluenGrey.
I also have received BluenGrey’s permission to give out her email address for paypal, so any future $$ can go directly to her.

Has anyone had time to measure her yet for a blanket? She has offers on this thread, and now is the time for her to get some clothing for next fall. Even though spring sprung in January this year, she might need a rug before summer.
Great work guys! Wait till she starts looking good and those geldings see how cool at TB mare can look in her old age.
I’m not sure, although BnG did have a blanket hanging on Momma’s stall, so maybe she had one that fit? I will see if I can get another update from her.

My hugest apologies…66 donators!! I missed ellebeaux and I feel terrible. She is definitely part of the syndicate!!
How much weight does she need?
At her age will she lose the ribby look or just carry the weight as a haybelly?
How do older TBs put on weight?
Not in anyway to be interpreted that I think she is anything but beautiful now. (BTW- The pedicure looks great) and once she loses the winter coat…
I just want to keep my expectations realistic, I know there is a swan in there.
Depends on the horse. If she was a hardkeeper, she’ll not get as fit as an easy keeper. (And yes, some tb mares are easy keepers, I had 3 of them.)
Once she gets wormed and gets her teeth done, she should put on some weight,even at her age.
Always Funny has a lot of fans and now a lot of owners. She will hopefully keep getting “new” owners to pay her expenses for hopefully more years than we first thought she’d have. I hope we’ll get over 100 owners in our syndicate.
