Heartland TV show's latest plot line

I know the Heartland show is full of inaccuracies and downright dangerous crap (does anybody ever close a gate?) but the Canadian scenery is so spectacular, there are horses, and Grandpa Jack is pretty cool, so I watch it sometimes; there are reruns a couple of times a day.

The episode I saw today had a plot line that seemed to touch on something that has been on a lot of folks’ minds – or at least their posts – lately.

Our impossibly talented and incredibly infallible heroine was helping an elderly guy get horses to board to bring in a whole bunch of money which would keep his farm/ranch from foreclosure.

Isn’t that an older episode? Vaguely remember it. The newest season is out (Netflix or Hulu, can’t remember which). Is there going to be another season–because it seems like they closed a lot of threads at the end.

Yes; this channel seems to only run seasons 1- 4, from what I’ve seen.

No idea of future seasons, or even about what happens in the newer seasons that this channel/network doesn’t want to buy.

They are filming season 17 now. I think Netflix only has through 15 in the usa.

@ShenanAnna :laughing: Yeah, that’ll work!

SEVENTEEN!??!
I watched when it was on an off brand channel here in the US, but only up until the lead had her baby.
I read Ty dies, but I may still search for it & catch up.
Despite some of the cringy horsekeeping*, it was better than Saddle Club  & some actors actually rode!

*those peeled branches for stall grilles
Raise your hand if your horses:
A)would reduce them to splinters
B)incur vet bills for doing so

It is definitely quite cheesy. I miss Tye and Georgie, but it is a wholesome show and I get to see horses (no matter how… cringey some of the story lines can be). I’m hoping that they will weave back in some jumping in the future. The trick riding and liberty isn’t quite my jam. Interesting, but not what I want to see every episode.

Never seen the show but contrary to popular belief on COTH some people do make a decent living boarding horses. I’ve personally known several…

I know a lot of people love this show, but I think it’s pretty dopey.

It is dopey. I was very turned off, but then read about how great the scenery and grandpa Jack were, plus, well, horses, so I watched it again. Not being critical, just looking at the things I did like. They kind of grew on me, and I now catch it sometimes. It’s on this low-rent network twice a day, so that’s easy.
