Heated vest

I would like to buy a heated vest for the upcoming winter. It must have heat in the lower back. Any recommendations?

I bought an Ororo vest last winter as a Christmas present to myself. It never really got cold enough to try it out. It looks like it is well made.

It is a wonderful vest. I highly recommend it. Get an extra battery.

I bought an Ororo but returned it because I didn’t like how high the collar came up. I replaced it with an Akaso Nomad and I’m very happy with it.

Ororo hands down…I have the heated vest. I loved it so much I also bought a heated jacket last year. I wish I found these years ago. Great quality…wash well. They have lots of style options. Charges pretty fast too. I love the different heat settings…as I can start with it on high and then when I am riding, turn it down, then back up when I am done riding.

No assistance with brand but will say most any will likely do. Reason being, I bought 2 cheap a$$ vests from a FB ad. We’ve (SO and I) had them for 2-3 years and they still work great. Well maybe not mine anymore, TBD on that one as I left it outside the barn for a few weeks in rain and all sorts of weather. But for paying I think $50 total for both, even if mine is caput after being left out we got our money’s worth.

I have a jacket and a vest. I can not recall the brands but my only issue is they are “puffy jacket” material and I fear I will rip them at the barn.

Carhart makes a heated jacket now which I believe would make me feel less worried about tearing the other shell.

Ororo is great. I had two that died after 3+ years - the vests not the batteries - and just ordered two more. They have a new soft shell vest that now has lower back heating in addition to the upper back. Can’t wait for it to arrive! I also like the fleece version (it’s more of a tight knit than a fleece) for around the house. I practically live in it during the cold weather. With two batteries you can have it on pretty much all the time. Definitely makes night check much more bearable!

I’d suggest not washing them. I think that’s what did mine in even though I washed according to instructions.

I have two. The one I wear in the barn is made by Akaso. I could rep for the company I love it so much. It is so warm that I often don’t even have to turn it on. I have an Ororo that I wear not in the barn. Its super nice. I don’t think its as warm as the other.

Yes! I don’t need to turn my Akaso vest on very often, either, especially once I’m on a horse and working.
