Heinoger Xplorer Pro Cordless Clipper & Blades

Hello everyone, my question might be a bit basic, but I’m a beginner in the art of horse clipping. I recently bought the Heiniger Xplorer Pro. I need to buy blades and was considering the Heiniger 35/17 Clipping Blade Set. My trainer used the Wahl Ultimate Competition Wide Detachable Blade Set for Horses, Size 10W, to clip my horse’s coat. I’d like to know if this blade works well for the body, if I need a different one for certain areas, or if I should be using a different blade altogether. Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

A 10W blade leaves 2.3mm hair. I think the Heiniger blades for the XPlorer would be close. I think the 35/17 is what those clippers come with.

Here’s a hair length remaining vs. blade number chart. The smaller the number the coarser (longer) the cut.

That’s for A5 type blades with the 10W being very similar to T84, but it is not helpful for body clipper blades with the dual number system.

Correct. I was correcting info from a previous post that stated 10W leave 2.3mm of hair. They do not.

And here’s the actual Heiniger specs on their various blades. You do need to click on each one to get the measurement.

They do, actually. 10WF leaves the same as a regular 10.

They leave the same length as a regular 10, yes, but it’s the T84 that leaves the longest clip of the small/small wide blades. 10s leave the hair at 1.5mm, not 2.4. It’s the T84 that leaves hair at 2.4mm.

10W and 10WF are not the same blades! 10W is usually what comes with Heiniger a5 type clippers. It leaves 2.3mm of hair, close to the same as T84 but not quite. I own all of these blades. The blades say what mm length right on them! Not sure why you keep trying to correct me!
