Helmets for hot heads!

what show ring acceptable helmets have kept your hottest heads cool?
I’ve been a Charles owen wearer for a long time but am open to anything that keeps me from passing out when summer comes.

thanks!

I naturally don’t get super sweaty, but I can definitely feel the air come through the vent of my samshield more than any other helmet I’ve owned (I’ve had GPA, Charles Owen, KEP). It’s noticeable. Also I’ve broken bones and hit my head in my samshield and it has kept me safe. I know there are a lot of debates over helmet ratings and you’re not asking for that, but I’ve found that I can both feel the ventilation and have experience of it keeping me safe FWIW.

I ride in the CO AYR8 most of the time, and for summer I bought a CO Luna. It’s a lot more ventilated than the AYR8, and fits me much better than the other brand options.

I borrowed my daughters Uvex MIPS helmet and it is so much cooler than my One-K. I will be purchasing one for summer. I could feel the breeze and I didn’t have sweat dripping down my face which was nice.

I really suffer in the heat and my GPA First Lady is like having a fan strapped to the top of my head.

Hey this one’s actually pretty affordable, too! I might give it a try.

For me, UVEX MIPS.

I’m used to having a hot head and, despite knowing the vent was there, was still startled the first time I felt a puff of air pass through my Samshield, lol.

I guess I wasn’t expecting it to actually function.

I do wish I knew at the start that my oval head needed the premium liner as opposed to the other, “regular” one.

One of my barn mates has this helmet for summer and she loves it.

I have two Traumavoid Eq3 helmets and a Charles Owen Halo. I got the halo last fall so I haven’t have a chance to wear it in hot weather yet, but the Eq3 helmets are pretty good for hot weather.

GPA first lady and OneK are by far the coolest I’ve worn.

Color makes a big difference, too. I got a green and white stretchy cover for my black helmet and no more headaches, light-headedness. It helped that the fabric was subtly metallic, too; more light (and heat!) reflection.
