Open to suggestions, or to what others have done with success, in regard to what saddle pads - liners - that are being used under the newer heavier show pads. I have a AQHA 8 yr old WP gelding, I would say ideal conformation, not mutten withered, not real high withered, balanced topline. Previously I had a heavy muscled gelding prior to this gelding, my show saddle is wide for my current gelding. I use a 1/2" felt liner and the heavier show pads. My current gelding is having some pressure areas in the shoulder pockets. I have seen Len Brown’s Protector and Corrector pads to use shims with. I see CSI has pad with protective shield to prevent pinching, etc. I have become overwhelmed. These pads are pretty pricey to purchase for “trial and error”. Open to suggestions and or what others use under their show pads and Western Pleasure saddles. Thank you
Saddle sounds narrow if you’re getting pressure areas in the shoulders. At best you’ll need a thinner pad, but odds are the tree doesn’t fit this horse. Can’t fix that with pads.

This, this, this ^^^^^
If the saddle doesn’t fit, the saddle doesn’t fit. Period. Get a different saddle.
Would you wear shoes that are 2 sizes too big, but just add extra socks to fill in the gaps?
Ditto.
You are not going to truly fix a saddle fit with pads
