As the title suggests, I’m looking for anyone who is using a Corriente brand western saddle on their thoroughbreds.
I need a new saddle ASAP and am in love with a specific Corriente, but they don’t do custom trees and my boy is a narrow narrow sharks, So I’m trying to find similarly built TB’s that maybe are using one to see if the gullet/wither clearance is enough and the shoulders will work.

To my knowledge Corrientes only come with full QH bars. Which is a pretty generic description but its been my experience that they are fairly wide. Have you called Corriente and asked about gullet measurements on the model you’re looking at?
Corriente will send out bare trees for you to try on your horse and see if it fits. Just ask.
This will absolutely not tell you if it fits a horse.
Two saddles can have the same gullet measurement but fit completely different. If you want a good visual, go onto the Stoney Saddles facebook page and watch an excellent video they posted, comparing two bare trees, and what “gullet width” measures … and what it doesn’t.
My twister fits my daughter’s horse who is basically withers with legs attached.
Yes and no. Depending on the tree and who built it. When ordering a true custom saddle those are some of the first measurements asked for. It won’t promise a perfect fit but you get an idea along with bar angles if you can get those too.
You’re not going to get a custom fit saddle for a line built saddle price. Although some on here are against correcting fit with pads, it can be done if you get close enough with a good tree, saddle fit. At least some basic measurements will give the OP a basic idea whether to try It or move onto something else.
Yeah, I called them and they tried to have some local-ish lady who has a few that were to be trophies bring one out to me, but the lady never ever called me or anything.
As for calling them, I did call them and they never even suggested sending me a tree, I was pretty desperate to the lady on the phone that I was pretty much looking for ANY options to ensure that this is the right decision and she never even let on that that was an option. Kinda leads me to think that they no longer do that.
They use their very own tree (and, I suppose technically its neither standard FQHB or SQHB). The lady told me that their tree is actually narrower than most, but its their own design and isn’t “standard” to anything but them.
I really wanted a custom tree and was willing to pay extra, but its not an option for them.
They are beautiful, and I’m really hoping it will work.
In the meantime, my search continues for someone local to me that has one that I can just sit it up on his back to check for fit.

Twister is a brand. I’d never heard of it either. You can find used trophy saddles for ~$400-450. I love mine. I had to call the headquarters for something or other and they were much nicer than the corriente people. I know they will work with you if you need one made, but I don’t know how much it’ll run you.
I rode my 5 year old out in it and when he started having a 5 year old moment (rearing, crow hopping, spinning, generally pitching a fit), I didn’t even notice the saddle, but I never felt insecure, either. I was right in the middle of him through all his antics.
Edit: if you want a custom tree, the makers are out there, but you most likely won’t get a saddle attached to it, and it won’t come cheap.
Sometimes you really have to specifically ASK them to send you a bare tree.
Last time I was saddle searching a couple years ago, they did send me a bare tree. (and it did not fit my horse)
