Help finding reins

Desperately searching for the perfect reins (yes,
I realize I am absurdly picky), budget is no issue.

• Black
• Pony length (48-50” ideal, can make 52” work)
• Small pebble rubber (the rounded type, not the rough flat kind)
• Stops
• 5/8” wide/16mm or as narrow as possible
• Thin and soft as possible (I have tiny hands)
• Buckle ends would be a huge added bonus, but I can give these up

The best I’ve found are the Henry James Biothane Biogrip with Stoppers (https://www.henryjamessaddlery.co.uk/collections/reins/products/super-bio-grip-hybrid-rubber-reins-with-leather-stoppers) which I have in brown, but of course they’re out of stock in black pony everywhere with no date to be back.

Among the various reins I’ve owned these come the closest to meeting your criteria. Quite thin and soft with stops and buckles, though the grip is only on one side and may not be the pebble grip you’re looking for. I believe PS of Sweden’s cob size reins are ~51".

If you’re willing to give up stops, the nunn finer soft grips have everything else you’re looking for and are quite thin.

I always recommend Southeast Sport Horse. Looks like they no longer have their online site, just Ebay. They have the soft, pimple grip reins w/leather stops in Brn or Blk, 54" - 64", like Jerry’s Harness used to offer. They used to do custom lengths, so maybe ask if they’ll do shorter than their stock sizes.

Nunn Finer does not have the stops, but I believe they meet all your other criteria.

I’ve had both of these but the PSOS rubber is too rough and I can’t give up rein stops. I swear this is the impossible hunt

Dy’on has black, pony length, soft rubber reins with stops and a buckle. The rubber dots are not domed though.

I live the Nunn Finer Soft Grips. You can always add the stops yourself.

ETA, oops, I’m a dummy. Ex-jumper rider here, I was thinking you meant martingale stops. Duh. Sorry. But the reins are super nice. Like tagsalong says, maybe you can get them shortened.

Nunn Finer does make soft grips with stops, but only in the 58" size - wonder if you could take them to a leather shop or something and get them cut down a bit?

Or, they have these “training aids” which are colored, but maybe you could do a similar idea with putting extra rubber keepers on instead of the colored bands?
