After a weekend of horse showing in a freshly oiled saddle, my white breeches look like they may be destined for retirement I really like these ones! I let them soak in stain remover before washing them but they still don’t look clean. Anyone have any family secrets they want to share for getting them sparkling white again?
Oxi-Clean in hot water. When I wash whites I turn up my hot water heater to at least 140 degrees. If that is not an option for you I would heat water in a big pot on the stove to soak your pants in (with Oxi) before washing. Oxi-Clean really only works in hot temperatures.
I have soaked really awful items in a cooler with hot water and Oxi. The cooler keeps the water hot for a longer period of time. Leave overnight, if you need to.
Awesome, STB! I will give that a try!
Spray with stain spray, soak in hot Oxy water, and then put vinegar in the bleach thingy of your washer. Should work!.
If the crotch is oily stain I would go after it with dawn dish soap first, instead of the stain spray.
I love the product Brite White. I was cleaning out my closet and found some really pretty white shirts that are over 30 years old and had a yellow tinge to them. I laundered them in oxi clean, sprayed them with spray n wash, shout out and used laundry detergent but they were still yellow.
Then I soaked them in the Brite White (in heated water in a large pot on the stove) and they turned bright white again:

Do not use it with colors was the color will be removed. I didn’t mind that it removed some colored piping as I was just happy to have new sparkling white shirts.
Also, my shirts had clear and colored crystals and beads. The glass looking crystals were fine but the pearl looking decorations had the coating removed so that now the pearl colored beads look like grey beads. The sequins were also fine, but your mileage may vary with decorations.
50% blue Dawn and 50% hydrogen peroxide. Mix in a spray bottle, apply to stains. Let sit for 45-60 minutes, then apply a second time and wash right away.
I spray stained areas with Oxy all purpose bathroom spray cleaner (not anything with bleach), the brand I use is Zep or Natura. Let sit for 10 minutes before washing.
